We hope you are all staying healthy and enjoying your summer break! We are getting our school ready and looking forward to getting started.  Below are few things to update you on.

Beginning Of School Delayed-As you are all aware, the Governor has pushed off the school year until September 14 for students. As it stands now, Governor Raimondo will be making an announcement on August 31 about how school will start.  Please refer to all of the plans that the district has outlined here.  Please keep in mind that in the Full Return plan and Partial Return plan, all elementary students will be attending school.

District Surveys-As many of you already know, district surveys have gone out to families regarding re-entry in August.  As new surveys come out, please take a moment to complete them (even if you’ve already completed one), as this information will help us in our planning process. There will be more coming after the governor’s announcement about school later in the month. Thank you in advance!

Homeroom Teacher Update-We know how difficult it can be not knowing who your child will have next year. We are continuing to adjust classrooms based on information from families received in surveys. We will be getting Homeroom teacher information to families soon.  Again, thank you for your patience!

Supply Lists- We have asked teachers to adjust their supply lists and make them generic to the grade level.  Please use these as a guide for the upcoming school year.

Grade 2 Supply List

Grade 3 Supply List

Grade 4 Supply List

Grade 5 Supply List

Contact Information- Just a reminder to provide us with your most current phone numbers and email addresses so we can better serve our families.  You can update in Skyward, or email either Mrs. Perreault at perreaults@bsd-ri.net or me at brissetted@bsd-ri.net.

Thank you,

David Brissette, Principal

Yearbook Updates:

Dear Callahan Families,

Yearbooks are a tradition for schools throughout the US and Canada. At Lifetouch, we are humbled to be a part of providing that tradition. We know how important yearbooks are - especially in times like these.

We want to take a moment to acknowledge this year’s delayed yearbook delivery is not what you, as our customers expect, nor deserve, from Lifetouch.

We want you to be aware that our primary yearbook production facilities are located in some of the states that are being hardest hit by the pandemic. We have prioritized the safety of our employees; and we are following all state and local health guidelines to create a safe working environment. Social distancing requirements mean that there are fewer people available to work at any given time. These changes have impacted our production schedule in meaningful ways.

We realize this has created a lot of frustration since we are currently unable to provide an estimated delivery time frame for your school’s yearbook. Please know our teams are doing everything possible to get your yearbook to you. Shipping is monitored daily. As soon as your yearbook ships, your school will receive tracking information so they can arrange to distribute the yearbooks to the students and families in a manner that is best suited for everyone’s safety.

As we navigate COVID-19, our intent is to provide you with a yearbook that your student will treasure for a lifetime. We thank you for your patience and understanding as we navigate this unprecedented time together.

Sincerely,

Lifetouch
