Welcome back Callahan Families!!

We eagerly await the arrival our students. Our teachers have been working hard to prepare their rooms all summer long and are exciting to start up again. Just a few things to keep in mind to help with the first few days Next Week:

School Starts on Tuesday, September 5, 2017

Parent Drop Off and Parent Pick Up-Please be aware that if you plan on dropping your child off at school that it can be done from 8:25-8:40 in the front of the school.  The back parking lot is reserved for buses only during these hours.  If your child is going to be a parent pick up on the first day, please send a note into his or her teacher telling us the student name and who will be picking your child up.  Please make sure that the person picking your child up understands that they will need a picture ID in order for the school to release the child to them. The person picking your child up will need to park in the front of the school and enter through the main office. They will be allowed in at 2:55 and ID’s and signatures will need to be completed before the child is released to the adult.  Thank you for complying with our procedures that are put in place for the safety of all of our students!

Walkers- If your child will be walking home after school; we need a note on the first day of school telling us the student name and the address they are walking to.  They will sign out every day at the end of the day.  Even if your child was a walker last year, we need a note this year.

Summer Reading and Summer Math- Please make sure your child has completed the required summer reading and math that went home at the end of the school year.

Open House-Callahan’s Open House will take place on Thursday, September 7,2017 from 6-8PM.

Lunch Menus will be coming home on Tuesday or Wednesday of the first week. You can check the menu online at anytime.

The Callahan PTF will be on present at our Open House to welcome our families.  If you wish to volunteer or chaperon this school year please make sure you fill out a volunteer packet and a BCI form with our Parent Volunteer Coordinator Staci Mansolf.  She will be set up with the PTF on that evening.

Negative Lunch Balance-The negative balance policy is in effect.  The new negative balance limits for full pay students is - $19.50 this price reflects the new increase allowing full pay students to charge up to five breakfasts and five lunches. The reduced limit remains at -$3.50. If your child’s account goes over this amount they will have an alternate lunch of that consists of two sides, milk and a sunny butter and jelly sandwich.
