Reading Week 2015- This year’s reading week theme is “Be Your Own Hero-READ.” Dr. Romani will also be offering her contest to our school again called “Reading Rocks.” There are two attachments about this week. Please consider volunteering if you can on Friday, April 17, 2015 for our 5th grade Rooster Games. The Week Highlights:

    • Monday-”Be Someone’s Hero”Students discuss ways to be everyday heroes in their classrooms.

    • Tuesday-Wear Your Favorite Superhero” Wear a t-shirt of your favorite superhero

    • Wednesday-”Sports Hero Day” Dress up with a favorite sports hero shirt or hat.

    • Thursday-”Pajama Day” Partner read with another class and share your everyday hero classroom writing pieces with partners

    • Friday-”Rooster Games for Grade 5” Wear your team color. “Callahan Colt Day for Grades 2, 3, 4” Wear your school colors

Rooster Games- This year’s Rooster Games will be held on Friday, April 17, 2015. We need some volunteers to help our students on this day. We need 10 volunteers. Please see the attached for more information to help out on that day.

Title 1 Bingo for Books Night will take place on Thursday, April 16, 2015 at 6:00PM in the Levy School Cafeteria. Please see the attached.

PARCC Testing-I am happy to report that we are done with PBA portion of the PARCC Assessment. We will be starting on the EOY portion of the PARCC assessment in early May.

Spirit Wear- The Callahan PTF is selling Spirit wear again. Please see the attached form for more information. ORDERING DEADLINE IS APRIL 15.

Negative Lunch Balance-The negative balance policy is in effect. The new negative balance limits for full pay students is - $19.50 this price reflects the new increase allowing full pay students to charge up to five breakfasts and five lunches. The reduced limit remains at -$3.50. If your child’s account goes over this amount they will have an alternate lunch of that consists of two sides, milk and a sunny butter and jelly sandwich.
