5th Grade testing will be finishing up this week on the at Callahan on the following dates:

    • Grade 5 Science testing- April 30 & May 1

Slogan Contest-Has your child come home trying to think of a great slogan to represent W.L.C.? We are asking each homeroom to come up with slogan that will be motivational and inviting to be hung in our gymnasium. Once each homeroom submits a slogan one will be chosen and the winning slogan will be announced at the end of the year assembly. We can't wait to see what great ideas our students can come up with!

Join teachers and students on Thursday, May 2 from 5 - 6:30 at WLC for our annual Showcase of Student Learning. Visit different classrooms to hear first hand from students about what they have been learning throughout the year. We hope to see you then!

The Callahan Student Showcase Of Learning- Thursday, May 2, 2019 5:00-6:30PM

Spring Grounds Cleaning- On Wednesday, May 8, 2019 we will be holding our second annual Spring Cleaning at Callahan. Help us weed the gardens and trim the hedges. Last year were done in a few hours. Field Day: Wednesday, May 29, 2019 (Raindate Thursday, May 30, 2019)

Moving Up Day (Gr. 5): Friday, June 14, 2019 time TBA

Lunch With Someone Special: Monday, June 17, 2019 @ 11:30

Please remember to send a note to school with your child in the morning when you have a dismissal change for that day. Mrs. Perreault (Perreaults@bsd-ri.net) needs this information first thing in the morning and please follow up with a phone call. Please see the attached to help with that note.

Yearbook pre-sales have ended. There will be a limited number of copies available for purchase once they arrive to us in early June.

Please remember that there will be plenty of opportunities for parents and guardians to volunteer at all of the end of year events. If you intend on volunteering you need to have a BCI on file from this school year (not calendar year). By state law a parent/guardian has to have one completed each school year in order to volunteer in school or on field trips. If you want to help out please do not wait until the last minute to get your BCI check finished.

Negative Lunch Balance-The negative balance policy is in effect. The new negative balance limits for full pay students is - $19.50 this price reflects the new increase allowing full pay students to charge up to five breakfasts and five lunches. The reduced limit remains at -$3.50. If your child’s account goes over this amount they will have an alternate lunch of that consists of two sides, milk and a sunny butter and jelly sandwich.
