Moving Forward…..As we begin to wind down our academic school year, our distance learning will begin to look somewhat different at the elementary level. In response to the feedback that we have received from the family survey, we will be altering elementary school expectations. Beginning on June 3rd, your child’s schedule may change slightly. This will include no homework, no exit tickets, and no additional assignments outside of their time online with their teachers. Students will still continue to go to their specials and do Lexia/Zearn and silently read in the afternoon. Please be aware that your child’s teacher will continue to be available for any questions or clarifications that your child may need. This change allows us the flexibility to help students who need to meet with their teachers in small groups as necessary, or to get caught up on any work they may not have yet submitted. It will also give us the chance to incorporate some fun “end-of-year” activities for kids, like we usually do in the last weeks of school.
5th Grade Moving Up- The Calllahan 5th grade teachers are doing a virtual Moving Up day for their students. This will be held on Thursday, June 11, 2020 at 10:00AM. We will be doing this live with our students and their families through Google meets. More information to follow.
Callahan Teachers Parade- The WLC teachers will be doing a drive through the Callahan side of town parade on Tuesday June 2, 2020(Raindate Wednesday, June 3, 2020. We are doing this as a thanks to all of the hard work that our students have been doing for us. Please be on the lookout for more information and the route.
